Who doesn't love butterflies? These colourful creatures can make you forget all while you chase them through your garden. Now imagine a whole garden with these butterflies with their different kind of species. Amazing right? Dubai Butterfly Garden is just that an oasis filled with nature’s most beautiful, winged creatures. FS 2 children went for their term2 filed trip to Dubai Butterfly Garden with their class teachers and learning partners. They had lots of fun by watching the colourful butterflies flying around the garden freely which was a breathtaking sight and experience for the little ones. Children were able to get a real-life experience to observe and witness the actual butterfly lifecycle – from egg to caterpillar, cocoon to adult butterfly – and gain insight into their metamorphosis.

Exploring the World with FS2 through different activities was an exciting and rewarding experience – Learning about food, travel guides, stories, and cultural artifacts helped to broaden the student’s horizons thus offering a deeper understanding of the world we live in. Creating maps, art and paintings during prehistoric ages making monuments gave them an insight of the course of human history. The FS2 pyjama party was a fun filled event as children came dressed in their pyjamas. They enjoyed the story ‘Giraffes can’t dance’ enacted by their teachers. Children were enthralled to watch their teachers perform and were engrossed in the story and the characters. The parents and children were overjoyed to sing and dance along with their teachers. FS students celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm. Our students designed beautiful cards for their mums and discussed how mums help them. Contributions and achievements of Emirati Women were celebrated in the areas of technology, science, politics, and environment. FS2 C children celebrated "Dreams and Aspirations". They shared information about the different professions that they dream and aspire to be when they grow up. FS2 B presented their assembly on ‘Tolerance and Peace’. The children spoke confidently about the importance of treating others with respect and love, no matter their background or the country they belong to. The song on Tolerance was enjoyed by everyone. FS students dressed up as their favourite endangered animal. They spoke about why these animals are endangered and how we can protect wildlife on Earth. They took part in a parade through the corridors, where they were cheered on by all the other students. The aim was to raise awareness among children about endangered animals and how we can protect all living things. As part of World Book Day, children participated in the Drop everything and read activity (DEAR TIME). They were enthusiastic about reading their favourite storybooks in the classroom as well as different outdoor areas. They also enjoyed making reading pointers using decorative materials. FS2 children were excited to become writers and illustrators. They were engaged and worked as a team to create and write their own stories to make story books and story sacks. FS2A children presented their assembly on Punctuality and Good Manners through a skit. Children understood the importance of being on time, how to use good manners in daily life which will develop them into confident and respectable adults as well as earn and give respect to those around them. |
