The Winchester School is always seeking creative ways to help our children work beyond their potential. Drama and Theatre offers exciting ways to introduce new vocabulary. To enable the children enhance these skills in Foundation Stage, we encourage them to watch theatre performances. “Musical Jungle Book”, a vibrant and interactive fast paced adventure, for the children of Foundation Stage included role play and drama. It was enjoyed by each one
FS2 I presented an assembly catering to the though of dreams and aspirations. Children came dressed up as different professions like teachers, doctors, firefighters, police, nurse and rock stars. They spoke about that they want to be when they grow up. Children were very confident in talking about their dreams. Later they sang a beautiful song ‘When I go up’ pertaining to the theme of the assembly.
The children of FS2 H shared their views on the importance of keeping the earth clean. They spoke about the small ways in which we can contribute towards a cleaner and better earth. They came dressed in the colours of the earth. They shared a beautiful song-‘EARTH- We’re in it together’ which was appreciated by all. The children of FS2 G shared a skit with their friends, parents and teachers, where they spoke about how they should behave and obey the rules at school. They sang a beautiful song ‘Please and Thank you’’ which was appreciated by all. On Tuesday 4th December, FS2 organised the ‘Sports Day’. It began with the colorful march past by the students followed by a musical warm up. There were a range of multi – skilled games like – Relay Race, Passing the Hoola-Hoop, Dodging the Ball and the Obstacle Race. Students were really enthusiastic and excited to participate in all the races. They had a fun-filled experience. The event culminated with the mums and dads participating in the ‘Musical Chairs’. Certificates were awarded to all children as we believe that ‘Each child is a winner’. On 29th November, 2018, the children gathered together to celebrate the 47th U.A.E. Natonal Day. Parents’ and children shared songs, dances, food, culture through Power-point presentations related to their respective countries. A perfect example of ‘Unity in Diversity’ was portrayed through colourful, traditional costumes worn by the children and teachers’ . The event ended with a carousal of activities like face painting, Arabic dance etc. The children of FS2 D shared varied details celebrating and honouring the life and achievements of the UAE. They came dressed in the colours of the national flag. A lovely song showcasing their love for U.A.E. was sung. The audience enjoyed the assembly and got an overview of this great country. FS 2 children went for their first Field Trip to Al Barsha Pond Park. They were accompanied by their class teachers and learning partners. They had fun playing on the swings, slides, jungle - gym etc. and were thrilled to experience the joy of eating and socialising out in the open with their classmates. They also enjoyed reading books in the open area. |
